Boat Engine Noise is Harming Maring Life

The Impact on Wildlife

Increasing noise levels don’t just affect animals on land—they’re a growing problem for marine life too. Ships, oil drills, sonar devices, and seismic tests have made the ocean unbearably loud. Whales and dolphins, for example, rely on echolocation to communicate, navigate, feed, and find mates. Excessive noise interferes with this process, leaving them confused, disoriented, and vulnerable.
