Noizend Featured on Dr Karl's How Things Work

January 6, 2026

Noizend featured in Season 2, Episode 4 of Dr Karl's How Things Work, "Guitars," which premiered on ABC TV and ABC iview on 6 January 2026. The episode takes Dr Karl Kruszelnicki behind the scenes of Australian manufacturing, this time into a guitar factory to explore how wood choice, shaping, and acoustics combine to give an instrument its sound.

Noizend CTO and co-founder George Tulloch appeared as part of a segment on low-frequency noise, filmed at UTS's Centre for Audio, Acoustics and Vibration (CAAV), the same research environment behind Noizend's own low-frequency noise-control work. Guitars and industrial low-frequency noise sit at opposite ends of the acoustic spectrum in almost every sense except the physics: both come down to how a source radiates sound, and how that sound propagates and is measured.

The episode is available to stream on ABC iview.
